This will be my seventeenth year teaching and my fourteenth year teaching third grade at Clarkesville Elementary.  I love third grade and all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have!

I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education with a Reading Endorsement from the University of North Georgia.  I love to teach reading! I could teach it all day!  I can’t wait to help my students become better readers and expose them to lots of new reading adventures!  I always loved books growing up as a child and I believe that reading opens all kinds of new possibilities.

I grew up in Habersham County and I loved growing up here.  I went to Fairview Elementary, North Habersham, and then Habersham Central where I graduated with honors in 2002. I knew from the time I was in first grade that I wanted to be a teacher.  I have one younger sister, Jill, who I used to make play school with me when she was little.  There was never anything else I wanted to do.  My sister married Chris and they have a son named Colton, and two daughters, Ellie and Rose.  They live in South Georgia and I love to visit them.  (Except in the summer when the gnats are bad ).   Two years ago, I married Michael and we live in Mount Airy.  We welcomed our son, William into our little family in February 2022.  He is the sweetest little boy and is always smiling!  The only exception is when he is hungry.  We have a pet cat, Missy, who is now fourteen years old who I have had since she was little.
