This will be my nineteenth year teaching and my sixteenth year teaching third grade at Clarkesville Elementary.  I love third grade and all the exploring, learning, and fun we get to have!

I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and Special Education with a Reading Endorsement from the University of North Georgia.  I love to teach reading! I could teach it all day!  I can’t wait to help my students become better readers and expose them to lots of new reading adventures!  I always loved books growing up as a child and I believe that reading opens all kinds of new possibilities. In math we take a hands on approach and use many manipulatives to help students see the "why" behind how math works.

I grew up in Habersham County and I loved growing up here.  I went to Fairview Elementary, North Habersham, and then Habersham Central where I graduated with honors in 2002. I knew from the time I was in first grade that I wanted to be a teacher.  I have one younger sister, Jill, who I used to make play school with me when she was little.  There was never anything else I wanted to do.  My sister married Chris and they have a son named Colton, and two daughters, Ellie and Rose. Three years ago, I married Michael and we live in Mount Airy.  We welcomed our son, William into our little family in February 2022.  He is the sweetest little boy and is always smiling!  The only exception is when he is hungry.  William doesn't meet a stranger and makes friends really quickly. He's starting preschool this year and I can't wait to see how he learns and grows! We also have a pet cat, Missy, who is now fifteen years old. She's definitely an old lady!
